2004 release

Conceived by Chinese hip hop artist Deng Ke Chow, the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro ‘Shanghai’ draws inspiration from the architectural splendor of Shanghai's temples.

Featuring a striking red and gold color palette, the design pays homage to the Chinese flag, while the tongue tag showcases Chinese characters symbolizing ‘good fortune.’ Intricate line work on the red suede panels reflects the historical charm of Shanghai's architecture.

Reissued in 2013 with upgraded Nike technology and materials, both releases of the ‘Shanghai’ edition possess their own unique characteristics.

In 2002, the Nike SB Dunk made its formal debut, undergoing a transformation from its original incarnation as a basketball sneaker from the 1980s to better cater to the needs of skateboarders. Former Nike executive Sandy Bodecker is credited with spearheading the development of the Nike SB line, which emerged as a beloved division within Nike during the early 2000s.
